Camden Carriage Company Beginnings

Camden Carriage Company started with Joy Gensler's passion to share the elegant, relaxed beauty of all things Victorian. From the white mansions dripping with moss and blooming azaleas to the great oaks shading beautiful spring days. Joy rode the streets of historic Camden with her beloved pony nearly 30 years ago. It was with these stunning views that Camden Carriage Company grew.
Originally Joy took her pony and cart to savor the stunning history for personal pleasure. Within a year of these languid trips, Joy found her friends asking to join in the charm. Soon, these friends had guests interested in the exciting history and architecture, too! Thus, the beginning of Camden Carriage Company.

Joy passed the business to close friends Michelle Marble and Danny Davis in June of 2013. Their followed passions for sharing history and a great equine love continues the drive that first brought CCC to life. Camden Carriage Company loves bringing tourists to the cherished town to relive the mystique and heritage that is Camden, SC.

Our Horses

Our horses and mules are deeply loved and well-cared for. We do not park on the street for hours at a time in sweltering heats. Camden Carriage Company loves and maintains our horses as much as our family--because that is what they are. Many of our horses are rescues or in rehabilitation. We carefully match each team to suit their ability.

A special call-out for our dedicated Farm Manager, Jennifer. She is out behind-the-scenes caretaker helping to manage the health and happiness of our horses.

Take a moment to meet our hardworking horses and handlers!

Our Handlers

The ride and tour is only as fun as the handler! We take great pride in our drivers and handlers. They are always eager to share town tales and dress-up for the occasion!
